The 5AXN Hyperblast is exactly what I was looking for in a drumstick. Long enough to reach everything fast, heavy enough to sound great on loud environment and perfectly balanced so you can blast for days! I play different styles of extreme music, from fat heavy beats to super fast blast beats and this drumstick is a winner! I also want to praise the Fishsticks grips, they have made me regain my confidence on stage!

Bio:

Nick Prapas was born in 1983 in Athens, Greece. He began studying drums at the age of 14 and has

since been advancing his skills in multiple styles of drumming. He has been touring, recording and

playing live since 1999 and teaching since 2009. Although his dedication to extreme drumming (through genres like grindcore, brutal death metal and black metal) is what made him well-known to the underground scene, he has also developed a versatile spectrum of skills, ranging from fast singles in high tempos and double bass beats (Vulnus, Progress of Inhumanity) to heavy, groovy, fat beats

(Krause) and odd-time progressive patterns (Mencea)

Bio: I started playing drums at 11 years old, marched with my High School marching band for 3 years before moving to a drum kit full time. In that 18+ years of playing, I have had the opportunity to share stages with National and International bands and acts, play more shows than I could ever be able to remember, record several EP’s, play with numerous bands and hone my craft.

 I used the same brand and size sticks for over 10 years and was in need of change. When I saw the sleek black design of Fishsticks, I was instantly hooked. The black coat of the sticks provides a natural grip and has improved my performance and confidence behind the kit. An absolute godsend!

Bio: I have been playing drums/percussion for 17 years and have been writing/playing drums for Evocatus for 8 years. I’ve played in various percussion ensembles and orchestras in my time, playing drums, timpani, marimba and the classic gong at one point. I have brought this experience into Evocatus where I try to write drums to help me improve my own skills and abilities. My Dad introduced me to the original Evocatus line-up way back when. Without that and I wouldn’t have continued performing with the Evocatus guys or met some of the amazing people I have over the years.

Favourite Fishsticks: 5BX THUNDER FORCE

I’m a huge fan of the 5BX THUNDER FORCE. Aside from the striking white finish and bright lettering, they feel very well balanced and extremely sturdy. The extra length gives you just a little more leverage when you really want to get the point across on your cymbals. I was initially wary about the white painted finish, thinking they might be slippery,  but after holding a pair my doubts vanished. The matte finish feels unbelievable in your hands And rest assured these sticks aren’t going anywhere. Fishsticks are built for punishment.

Bio:

Although I’ve been listening to heavy music from the age of 11, I had a very late start on playing it. I didn’t pick up a pair of sticks until I was 20 when some friends were having trouble finding a drummer. I took a leap, bought a kit and the rest is history. I’ve very been fortunate to have played a lot of the United States and even made it to England for a couple of shows. I’m very humbled by the opportunities playing has given me. I’ve played huge festivals, recorded records, made lifelong friends and eaten all of the food......seriously all of it. So Fishsticks Drumsticks fit right into the way I live.

My hometown is Davis, WV but I’ve been living in Baltimore, MD for about 20 years.

I currently play in Iron Price, a sludgy, gnarly, metallic hardcore band from Baltimore, Wilmington and Philadelphia. You can hear our influences in Helmet, Unsane, Crowbar, All Out War, And Candlemass. We’re on a fantastic label Upstate Records. I also play in The Universal Donors , a Baltimore based Type O Negative tribute band.

Ive played in a lot of bands in my area. Most noteworthy are Taken By Force, Treason and Ballistic. As for session work I had the pleasure of sitting in for Stout, and Dead and Buried for one show each and I had a blast doing it!

Favourite Fishsticks:  5B Hammer Blast

I love that Fishsticks are lighter than previous sticks I’ve recently played, but still give me the familiar feel of a 5B stick, and with an extra bit of control from the coated finish. And with kickass names like Hammerblast and Destroyernator how could I not want to blast them!!

Bio:
I've been playing drums for the past 25 years, starting in bands in high school and then being primarily involved in the punk/ hardcore / metal scenes since then.
Playing drums has allowed me to not only play all over my home country of New Zealand but also to travel around the world doing what I love. Through current and previous bands I have had the opportunity to support and tour with many of my favourite genre bands. Touring has also been a great way to see a lot of non "touristy" parts of cities and connect with like minded locals. 

Whether its small local gigs, large festivals or creating songs with other musicians via the internet, I just love playing drums and being able to share this experience with others.

First of all, they are incredibly solid!  They are perfect for fast stuff and is just the weight i need . Finally the Weight and long size I need to help for better rebound. They also look great. I love the white contrast with my black drumheads.  

 The family business is an important thing for me too and Fishsticks gives off nothing but "good vibes."  

Bio: I've started drum lessons really young at 5 years. I did a lot of lessons and little jamming stuff. I've started playing metal stuff  when i was 18 years with Nodafreth.  We were friends from the skatepark  really long time before. I joined Rage of Light (formally Trophallaxy & Dysrider) and took the decision to leave to focus on my Youtube channel with drum covers and also to work on the next album on Nodafreth with my cousin Noé Schüpbach.

Today i project to do more drum covers and to become a drum teacher.  For sure i keep lot of practice to push my limit away everyday :)

I love the light feel of the 5AX Hyper Blasts. They are very versatile and allow me to play both fast strokes and loud heavy strokes. These are a great all-round pair of sticks.

Bio:

I have mainly been playing metal styles including thrash and nu metal with previous bands (Pizza Gut, Panik!, Decrier) and I am currently playing hard rock with Simple Stone. My style is a mix of blasty and heavy although I also like to incorporate elements of some electronic music, especially drum 'n' bass and trap.

For me I just love the 5AN HOARFROSTS because they are so light and easy to use as well as being thick, tough and easy to handle.

Bio:  Been playing drums on and off since I was about 12. I’m originally from a small town in rural NSW called Gunnedah and I moved to Newcastle to get involved in the music scene.

They’re perfectly balanced and the longer shaft gives me the extra throw. With the nylon tip you get the typical projection out of your cymbals, especially your ride and hi-hat. Wrapped in grip tape, playing drums is like a walk in the park, no more sweaty and slippery shafts.

Bio:

I started my journey at the age of 4 taking lessons from the drummer whom played in my parent's band. My first band at the age of 10 playing covers and other styles of rock and then 14 years of age came along when I received my first electronic kit for home practice. The last 3 years marked a new chapter as I began to explore the more extreme side of metal.

I need a stick that can provide me the balance, length, and durability that allows me to feel comfortable on stage and in the studio. That’s what I love about Fishsticks 5AXN Hyper Blast. The feeling that I get from these sticks can’t be found in any other brand. Combine them with the stick grips and you’ve got yourself a devastating weapon!

Bio:  I’ve been playing drums seriously for the last 4 years. I’ve always had an interest in playing drums, but these days I’m driven to explore this passion more than ever. Throughout high school I was involved in marching band and other projects. I’ve also played in punk, folk, and rock. But ultimately I decided to venture into playing metal music. Started out by playing with Mortal Enemy, a locally established group here in Boise, Idaho. I now play in the power metal outfit By Fire And Sword as well as the black metal act Weald and Woe. Both are challenging and rewarding in their own ways. And the more I pour myself into the music, the benefits are becoming clearer than ever.

  I’m proud to support Fishsticks as it’s a small Australian company producing high quality gear that deserves to be celebrated.  I love the wide range of products available, they have a great feel and balance and are a pleasure to play with. I enjoy the 5B for its balance of power and leverage, moderate weight and durability over thinner models, I like the brightness and durability of the nylon tip and the depth of sound produced by the oval tip. The natural finish is appealing to me because its the classic feel of lighter lacquering I've become accustomed to offering a good amount of grip/slickness that feels comfortable when shuffling up and down the stick under different circumstances. 

Bio:  I am the drummer from sydney rock band Wicked Things. I’ve been playing drums for 14 years, pulling influences from classic rock band like Deep Purple and Black Sabbath, through to 80’s/90’s hair metal like Motley Crue and Mr Big, as well as more modern stylings of bands like the Foo Fighters. I pride myself on being able to play a wide range of styles from Jazz  to Metal with the primary focus being on a big classic rock sound. I previously played in a Chilli Peppers-esque funk rock band called Cold Vulture for 4 years before the founding of Wicked Things. I do a little work with other sydney bands mostly for recording, for example I’ll be featuring on the Los Sierra album currently in production.

I had started drumming in Middle School but didn't take it seriously until High School. I have drummed in my High School Marching Band and Indoor Percussion program for 4 years, briefly drummed in The Baltimore Marching Ravens Band, briefly studied Jazz Performance in College, and in the past 3 years have taken up playing my true passion: Drumset and Extreme Metal. I am currently the Drummer for Extreme Metal / Deathgrind band Denied Rapture. Bio: Originally from western Sydney but currently based in north west Melbourne. Got into metal age 7 when I discovered the song Aces High by Iron Maiden on one of my mums compilation tapes. Got first kit age 13 and was on stage jamming with middle aged blues musos only a few months later. Got first professional gig at 15 playing in a jazz trio with 2 other guys who were more than twice my age. However I have played in a wide range of bands with differing styles including punk, hard rock, hip hop, jazz, alt-country, funk-metal, death metal, as well as session work in musicals, plays, etc. Now solely focused on experimental death metal.
