Favourite Fishsticks:   
Definitely the 5AX HYPERBLAST
 My favourite thing about the Fishsticks 5AX is that they’re longer than your average 5A stick, which makes playing a lot easier. The soft grips are a fantastic touch, this means I can focus more on what I’m playing rather than not dropping the stick, and another great thing about them is the added padding provide the extra protection from any jarring/cramping caused by the vibration from playing. The sticks themselves don’t vibrate as much as other brands I’ve used, and are half the weight, which makes playing metal an absolute joy. Despite being so light, they’re extremely durable, and the whole Fishsticks experience has been second to none. Fishsticks provide a beautiful new way to play your instrument with less of the fuss, and you can focus more on the music.  

Bio:
Naomi Treacy is the current drummer for Icarus Lives, a female fronted melodic metal outfit renowned for their twin guitar attack and forceful rhythm section. Influenced hugely by her parents mixed taste in music from a young age, listening to Queen, The Rolling Stones, KISS, Pik Floyd to anything Ministry of Sound and Fatboy Slim, she quickly found a love for louder, faster music and found it in Bullet For My Valentine, Breaking Benjamin, Korn, Iron Maiden and many more from the many Music Festivals that were circuiting. Always tapping her fingers on the school desk or anything else that made noise, Naomi found herself drawn to the percussive side of things during high school in music class, but didn’t pick up the sticks full time until 2013. She very quickly found her calling and played drums for a rock/punk band ImaJad while studying music through a TAFE college. ImaJad had a very short 12 months of life with only two gigs before they broke up. Following this, in early 2014, Naomi found herself in a fortunate situation, approached by a former member of ImaJad, to start a metal band, which later became Icarus Lives. Naomi has Toured Australia, Japan and Indonesia with Icarus Lives and has high hopes for a lot more, moving forward.

Most memorable moments:
 
Ah yes, definitely when Icarus Lives played Japan, it was the last show of the tour in Osaka, we were playing with The Agonist, Cellar Darling and Vulture Industries. We started to play and I saw every member of each band up in the balcony watching us play, that was surreal, and also terrifying at the same time! I don’t think I’ll ever forget that, that tour was great and so was everyone involved.
 
Meeting Peter Tagtgren and his band when we opened for PAIN was amazing, such genuinely kind people. Definitely a fan girl moment!
