5BN Hammer Blast

I play across a range of heavy genres, from technical death metal to hardcore to progressive rock, so I need a versatile stick with a good dynamic range, but also something with the power to cut through the mix when playing live and in the studio. The 5BN HAMMER BLAST sticks enable me to do just that - their heavier weight and nylon tip projects power and clarity through blast beats, while their sturdy shoulder makes rim shots on the snare sound explosive. The 5B size is a perfect all-rounder which still allows me to have the freedom to play softer when needed, so these are the perfect sticks for me! 

Bio:

I started playing drums at age 12 and fell in love with the instrument immediately. Being able to channel and express my rhythmic feel across a range of music genres has allowed me to collaborate with many special people in the Australian music scene and I have been fortunate enough to channel my passion for heavier music into a number of live and studio projects. I spend as much time playing live as I do in the recording studio as a session drummer.

By far the best drumsticks I ever used for many reasons. Perfect combination of balance, power and control. The extra length gives me way more freedom around the kit without feeling like I’m stretching for anything. They’re insanely durable which is what I really needed as a heavy hitting metal drummer. On top of that, the design is sleek and stylish which is a huge bonus!

BIO: I've been drumming since I was 10 with a couple of breaks, but a few years ago I realized I never want to take a break from drumming again, it's just who I am.

Favourite Fishsticks: 5BN Hammer Blast with Black Hole Soft Stick Grips

I first fell in love with fish sticks when I was a little kid. They were actually one of my first pair of drumsticks. I love how the sticks feel while playing as they feel like they’re an extension of my arm. I’m playing the sticks, the sticks aren’t playing me. My preferred choice of stick is the 5BN Hammer blast with the black hole grip as I’ve always played 5B and have never changed sizes adding the black hole grip just gives that extra amount of comfort to my playing style. Also the friendly amount of help and support from Paul and the Ibbotson team has been nothing but amazing! So what’s not to love?? 

Drumming bio: Nash has been playing drums for twenty years starting at the age of four being taught by Nate Meryment at Bam Bam music School in Blacktown. Since then Nash has played in band competitions and school events from a young age. Now Nash has played in multiple tribute/original bands around Sydney and Melbourne. Having a residency at the legendary Cherry Bar playing drums in the house band. He will also embark on playing. The Whiskey A Go Go in Hollywood later this year with Poizon’us the Australian Poison Tribute Show.

Favourite Fishsticks: 2BX DESTROYERNATOR. 

I love size of them. The extra length makes it so I don’t have to reach when moving from drums to cymbals and with the thickness of it I find using different techniques is very easy cause I can let the stick do a lot of the work. I’m a heavy hitter and these sticks give a really nice full sound coming off the drums. Another thing I love is the look. The black sticks look incredible on stage and to me looking cool is just as important and playing good.

Bio:  I’m Liam Dali from Calgary Alberta Canada. I’ve been playing for 8 years. I currently play in two bands, Passing Pluto and Less Miserable. I previously played in Dismania. Passing Pluto is a generally a hard rock band but we have a good mix of metal music incorporated into our style. Less Miserable is more of a indie pop punk band.

 The 5BXN THUNDER FORCE are the perfect weight for quick blasting, nice horizontal switching whilst still having enough weight to give nice consistency with the volume. The most reliable, solid and well balanced sticks i have ever used. An absolutely top tier product.

BIO: I have played drums for over twenty years in the underground death metal scene in NZ , I taught drums at Aurora college ( Invercargill NZ ) and won drummer of the year at the 2015 Southland entertainment awards . I have been performing live since 2001.

At the age of six my father took me into a music store and i instantly walked over to the drums , picked up the sticks and started to play a 4/4 beat . I have always felt like it was something i was drawn to , luckily my father loves music , and so at the age of six years old i was bought my first drums on my birthday . I didnt take it seriously until later on around the age of twenty , but the foundation was set . 
 I played drums in Ravenous for about ten years, took a 5 year break and then returned with Autonomy , my current and main band , whilst playing in a slamming goregrind side project , Snuff Duster .

Favourite Fishsticks: I alternate between 2BXN Destroyernator and 2BX - 

The perfect sticks. Nylon for extra Attack and 2BX for warmer tone. They are just the perfect sticks for my style of playing. The width, length and weight is perfect for my reach. Whether it be death metal or just chopping up for fun, the stick does a lot of the work for me and makes playing much easier.  I found it helps get stronger muscle after every session, whether fingers or wrist, it's perfect for every technique I utilise.  I couldn't imagine using any other stick. The perfect weight for throwing with Velocity and also love the Aesthetics. It doesn't hurt to have a fresh looking stick to match my style musically and stylistically.  My little tacker loves his K1 Little Fishys too.  Fishsticks go hard!  

Bio: I play for Allocer - they are good fellas and have always been proper brothers I can look up to and rely on. I've been playing since I was 13 - I Grew up in Muchea so there was F-All to do there besides ride bmx, dirt bikes or skateboard. I play a wide range of styles but primarily Death Metal but love everything from Blues to Hip Hop. I took a break after leaving Obscenium and later joined The Mighty Allocer.

I previously played for 'Obscenium' which later changed name and reformed into another band. Still have respect for them blokes regardless of differences and individual paths we took.

Other than the obvious highlight, that fact that they’re called thunder force, very cool. These bad boys are light weight but durable so I can play fast and hard while not worry about breaking a stick. Plus I’m a fashion whore and they look cool. 

Bio:

Started playing drums at 12 because no one els at school played and that’s what the band needed. After my first proper go I was hooked and never looked back.

First drum kit, was a shit show, random tama snare paired with a  mix of crappy shells. But eventually I saved up and got a Pearl masters studio BRX. Fun fact, that kit was my first real relationship. 
I now also have a Pearl vision birch and use a full lineup of paiste rude cymbals.

Born in Perth WA, but have lived in northern rivers NSW most of my life.

Favourite Styles: 

My favourite style would have to be progressive rock, but honestly I love anything that’s creative. Listening to a drummer step out of the norm and play something that follows it’s own line in a band, but continues to complement and support the song and other instruments, is absolutely amazing to me. And something I’m constantly trying to strive towards.
